CONNECT TO THE LANGUAGE TREE: If Reading Were Simple

Reading is many skills woven together.
When all of the skills work together as a system, then Comprehension grows.

If phonics were everything, then this would be something:

I bifor glantsiz whair tu poot that,
mezhering ufecshunit iz.

If real words and correct grammar were enough, then this would be enough:

Before I glance where to put that,
measuring is affectionate.

We still need meaning.

Once you learn how to do it,
reading is enjoyable.

Now we are making sense--now we are really reading.
